Presenting Jason Matthew Stuart

Jason was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphocytic leukemia) at the age of 3 years old. First hearing the news was the worst feeling ever! I thought my little boy was going to die. That thought/feeling soon passed once getting to JHH and the doctors assured me his cancer had an 85% cure. Jason underwent 3 years of chemotherapy, over 15 spinal taps, some with chemo to the brain and spinal cord, bone marrow biopsy (5) daily medications and frequent blood draws and doctor visits. Not to mention numerous trips to the ER for sick visits, numerous in-patient hospital stays for sickness and some for just chemo. But through it all, Jason was a champion. He was so strong and brave and went through it all just like it was everyday life. Now I tell people and they say, "I would have never known." He is growing, he is smart, he has been cancer free almost 4 years and he looks and is doing great!

Jason is a gorgeous, energetic little boy with the biggest smile you will ever see! Jason is a loving and caring young man. You can find him sometimes in a cowboy hat and boots that he took a liking to this year. I call Jason a roller-blade master, he can do anything in roller-blades, even climb stairs! Jason is always on the go, always keeping busy. He loves to ride his bike, play computer and video games, watch TV, play Pac Man, read, draw, write stories and color. Jason loves anything outside and also recently started martial arts and chorus and he knows how to crochet! He is so smart and creative, you will be so glad to have him as an honorary captain!

Thank you for playing lacrosse to benefit The Leukemia & Lyphoma Society to help families all over with children with cancer, just like our wonderful Jason!
