Presenting Kyra McPherson

Kyra Lee McPherson is 15 years old and is a sophomore at Bel Air High School. During her freshman year, Kyra played field hockey, did cheerleading, and ran 5K running races. In December she caught mono and tested positive for the Epstein Barr virus. Her energy level was compromised most of the winter. Kyra was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) in May 2009 and is undergoing treatment at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. When she reaches the maintenance phase of her treatment in about January, she will be able to return to school and get the chorkie puppy named Razzle, who is being raised by her aunt until Kyra is well enough to have the puppy.
