Presenting Victoria Ero

Victoria Ero is a 17 year old high school senior from Howard County, MD. Victoria was diagnosed with lymphoma at the age of 10. After several surgeries and months of intensive chemotherapy at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center, her cancer went into remission. Six years later, her cancer is still in remission and she is in great health. As part of her recovery, Victoria began classes in Irish step dancing a few months after completing treatment. She found an undiscovered talent, and she now competes as a champion dancer. Victoria is a long time member of the Teelin Irish Dance Company, performing regularly throughout the region as well as dancing in the Portraits of Ireland professional production presented each year by the Teelin School of Irish Dance. She was awarded Honorable Mention in the State of Maryland Distinguished Scholars in the Arts program this year. Victoria is a talented photographer (her photo is a self-portrait), and she recently participated in the 2009 Summer Intensive Arts program at Virginia Commonwealth University. She hopes to study photography or design in college.
