Our Mission:
Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Thank You For Joining Us In Our Life Saving Efforts!

Funded entirely by public contributions, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society supports five major programs: Research, Patients Services, Public and Professional Education, and Advocacy. The funds generated will bring us closer to finding cures for leukemia and related cancers.

Leukemia
  • There are an estimated 245,225 people living with, or in remission from, leukemia in the United States.
  • Leukemia causes more deaths in children and young adults under the age of 20.
  • The relative five-year survival rate for patients with leukemia increased from 14 percent in 1960 to 54 percent in 2005.

Lymphoma
  • There are an estimated 601,184 people today living with lymphoma: 148,461 have or are in remission from Hodgkin lymphoma; 452,723 have or are in remission from non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL).
  • NHL is the seventh most common cancer in the United States, and its age-adjusted incidence rose by more than 76 percent from 1975 to 2006.
  • The five-year relative survival rate for patients with Hodgkin lymphoma rose from 74 percent in 1975 to just over 86 percent in 2005.
  • The five-year relative survival rate for NHL patients rose from 48 percent in 1975 to nearly 69 percent in 2005.

Myeloma
  • There are 66,529 people living with, or in remission from, myeloma in the United States.
  • In 2009, 20,580 new cases of myeloma will be diagnosed in the United States.
  • Overall five-year survival rate for patients with myeloma rose from 12 percent in 1960 to just over 37 percent in 2005. The three-year survival rate as of January 1, 2006 was nearly 56 percent.
